What is so important about understanding and measuring mindset and thinking patterns?
Let’s start by remembering those famous words by Albert Einstein.
The definition of insanity.
Insanity, he said, is to try the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.
And, for most of us, we know that.
If we don’t like the results that we are getting, we try different actions.
We don’t need a psychologist for that. We don’t need a coach or consultant for that, either.
If you don’t like the results that you are getting, you just try a different action.
And, most of the time, for most people, just by changing their actions, they achieve the results that they are looking for.
But the problem is when you know that you want to change an action, and you don’t know how.
Or, you want to change to a different action but you don’t feel that you are connecting with that action, so you cannot sustain that change over time.
We must understand thing this action comes from a feeling. There is something that we feel, and that triggers that action. And that action has an effect on the results that we are getting.
So, if we want to have different results, then it seems that we need to change our feelings. And, it’s not as simple as that, right? There’s no switch for happiness, or for crying, or to stop crying, or to stop being sad. There’s no such thing as a switch for emotions.
So, when it comes to changing our feelings, we have to understand that these feelings come from a mindset.
What is a mindset?
A mindset is a specific set of thinking patterns and beliefs that trigger a specific feeling, then that feeling, of course, triggers an action, and that action triggers the result.
So, if we want different results because we don’t like the results we are getting; and if we want to understand how different results can be achieved, then we have to understand and measure our own mindset.
Now. That’s easier said than done. Because mindset is contextual. And the context, meaning the setting or situation, changes all the time.
Every time we have a different context, we’ll trigger a different mindset, which will trigger different feelings, triggering different actions, which then trigger different results.
Hence, the people who are very successful in specific times or points in time, then are suddenly not as effective in another one. The context has changed. And, if you don’t adapt to that change in context, you may not find yourself as successful as you were in the other context.
ON the other hand, some people who are not as successful in one specific context, then are suddenly successful when the context changes; they have a better opportunity at succeeding.
Now, what if you could understand the thinking patterns and beliefs, that is the mindset, that you have in a specific context so that you can be more successful. That’s precisely what we do with MindSonar.
We measure mindset in a specific context so you can increase your emotional intelligence, manage your feelings better, and trigger different actions that lead to different, more positive results.
