Procrastination is an Avoidance Strategy

When you are putting something off, ask yourself “What am I avoiding here?”

Procrastination is an avoidance strategy.

Solo business owners tend to think in terms of outcomes rather than problems, so we aren’t thinking about what we are avoiding, only what we can move on to.

By asking the question, “What am I avoiding here?” and being honest with ourselves, we may uncover insights as to why we are procrastinating and then get it done.

As solo business owners, we tend to be very outcome-oriented people.

When there is something that we don’t feel control over, we move on to something else without thinking of why we are getting away from the first activity.

Questioning yourself triggers awareness, self-reflection, and an opportunity to face our insecurities head-on.
